"Promotion of Entrepreneurial Know-How"
The funding program "Promotion of Entrepreneurial Know-how" consolidates the previous programs "Promotion of Entrepreneurial Know-how through Business Consulting", "Founder Coaching Germany", "Turn-Around Consulting" and "Round Table". The Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) is responsible for implementing the program. The measure is co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) of the European Union.
The funding program is aimed at companies that have already been founded. Consultations prior to founding cannot be subsidized through this program. However, the federal states offer subsidies for consulting costs and/or free start-up consulting for the pre-founding phase.

How much is the subsidy for the consultations?
The amount of the subsidy depends on the eligible consulting costs and the company location:
- For young companies (not more than 2 years on the market), the maximum eligible consulting cost is 4,000 €. In the old federal states and Berlin, 50% of the costs are covered; in the new federal states, 80%.
- Established companies can use consulting services with costs of up to 3,000 €. In the old federal states and Berlin, 50% of the costs are covered; in the new federal states, 80%.
- Companies in difficulty receive funding of up to 3,000 € at all locations, with 90% of the costs covered.

How do I apply for funding?
To apply for funding, you must submit an application to BAFA. First, young companies and companies in difficulty must hold a free informational interview with a regional contact person, who forwards the request to BAFA.

When can I begin the consulting?
After receiving the positive non-binding indication of funding from BAFA, consulting with businessstart.eu can begin.

What happens if I do not receive funding?
In our experience, you will most likely receive funding for many of our services. However, BAFA has the final say. If, contrary to expectations, you do not receive funding, we will of course meet you halfway on the price.
Funding via the AVGS (Activation and Placement Voucher)
If you want to become self-employed and are currently job-seeking or registered as unemployed, you can obtain an Activation and Placement Voucher (AVGS). This allows you to take advantage of founder coaching.
You receive the AVGS from the Federal Employment Agency. It can be used in particular if you are starting a business out of unemployment or are at risk of unemployment.
You can also receive an AVGS if you have been absent from the labor market for a longer period of time, for example because you raised children.
